Primary Research

Interview Questions

  • What barriers have you faced when trying to stay active during your postpartum period?

  • Have you used any wellness or fitness apps? What worked and what didn’t?

  • How do you define “wellness” for yourself postpartum — is it just physical, or more holistic?

  • What features or support systems would make you feel more confident about resuming fitness?

Key Takeaways

  • Lack of personalization: Most participants felt current apps weren’t designed with postpartum needs in mind.

  • Time constraints: New mothers cited lack of time and energy as major barriers to regular exercise.

  • Holistic needs: Interviewees emphasized the importance of mental well-being alongside physical recovery.

  • Desire for community: Many mothers expressed interest in connecting with others going through similar experiences.

  • Progress tracking: Simple, gentle progress indicators were preferred over performance-based metrics.
